I wonder if anyone remembers this incident

Here's the first part of this story

The story continues...

I bought myself another one of those power benders (that's what they seem to call them) as the original was getting so loose that it wasn't much fun anymore watching people trying to bend it at the office

The new one is as stiff as the original used to be when it was new. I still don't understand why they sell those things at the local supermarket as about half of the men who have tried it (including those who do 'real' work) can't make it bend at all.

I don't expect you to believe me... nobody does until they try it themselves...

Anyway... Now I have a colleague who also knows what it feels like to get a hit in the head with that thing. One of my teammates takes part in the strongman competitions and is considered one of the strongest men in Finland.

Today he came chatting at my desk and took the older power bender and twisted it carelessly like many times before. He noticed that it was the wrong one and did the same with the new one - without paying much attention to it.

I'm usually rather careful when people use that thing near me, but I never thought this guy would lose the grip of it. I was lucky that he whacked himself in the head with it instead of me when his hand slipped from the handle.

The colleague was lucky too as he didn't lose any teeth either, but he got rather nasty looking bruises in the chin and blood coming out of his mouth. It seems that he's not going to have any permanent damage, but he might have a blue head for a while.

I'm not sure if this post makes sense, but I remembered the old post immidiatedly when this thing happened... and I was pretty sure I had it saved somewhere...

The lesson of this story is that things like this can happen to the best of us. Or maybe there isn't any lesson in it... Either way, it's good to know that I'm not the only one who has experienced that

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! sorry should I be laughing? not too sure if it's appropriate but I can see it very very vividly in my head, I've done things like that before only with rulers and such like.

That was so funny.

It's Gretchy!

Sorry, this is admittedly about as far off topic as you can possibly get, but I had totally forgotten about you, and your existance remains one of my proudest UV moments. Partially because I am utterly insane, and partially because I still crack up every time I see you. In case I never actually pointed this out, you're using a name originally intended for a female gnome. I love it.

*nods*

I thought Gretchy was a girl for the longest time, cause of that name. =)

Now I am used to it, so it's all masculine to me now. *nods*

The thing that cracks me up about it though is I never actually thought he would USE it. I don't really care, mind you, but it was basically a really bad joke, he was asking for a new name and that SAME DAY Nikki was asking me for names for her gnome character, and she said no to Gretchy, so. I still say it's a good name. Of course, I have to, I created it.
